SC & ST Committee

As per AICTE guidelines, a committee is formed for prevention of atrocities against SC/ST students under the Act No. 33 of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. In case of any grievance in this regard, students can approach the committee for redressal. The committee will suggest measures to prevent atrocities, if any against any of the SC/ST students in the institute and to ensure the feeling of security amongst them as per the provisions in the said act. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Cell in an institute promotes the special interests of students in the reserved category.
  • The Cell is also expected to organize interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to attend to their personal, social and academic problems.
  • To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues if any.
  • To inform the SC/ST students regarding various scholarships / program of State Govt. and UGC.
  • Function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the grievances of SC/ST students and employees of the college and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.
  • To ensure the Prevention of Atrocities on the SC, ST Staff, Faculty and Students.

Minority Committee

This committee is formed to empower the minority communities in the college. The Minority Committee helps minority students including Christian, Muslim etc. for their academic development. The committee is formed with the objectives of encouraging minority students to enroll for career orientation programs which would empower and equip them with the necessary skills to choose a career option. It also facilitates financial support to students from minority communities from government agencies and other sources. The Committee is committed to assisting the minority students along with Scheduled /Scheduled Tribe students through counseling, personality development, development of communication skill, remedial coaching, tutorial classes, and preparatory classes for professional and employment purposes, etc. The Committee is actively engaged in coordinating and resolves the problems in the matter of conduct of remedial coaching and other measures intending to see that the education system succeeds in bringing to a level quantitatively as well as qualitatively indistinguishable from the level of the rest of the society.

The committee has following roles and responsibilities.

  • To enhance equal opportunities for education of minorities.
  • To facilitate financial support to students from minority communities from governmental agencies and other sources.
  • To encourage enrolling for orientation programmes which would empower and equip them with the necessary skills to choose the future prospects.

OBC Committee

The committee has following roles and responsibilities

  • To ensure provisions for an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
  • To ensure compliance of the orders of reservation issued and other benefits admissible from time to time in OBCs.
  • To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the constitution of India.
  • To provide the mechanism to redress the grievance of OBC students, if any.
  • To provide prompt counseling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any event at the campus.
  • To aware the OBC students regarding various scholarships program of State Govt.
