A one-week add-on course on “Machine Learning and IoT” was organized by Revertech Solutions IT in a hybrid format, aimed at providing students with both foundational knowledge and practical experience in Machine Learning and its integration with IoT technologies. The course was thoughtfully structured to bridge the gap between academic concepts and industry expectations, thereby equipping participants with vital skills for their professional growth. The sessions took place from 20th January to 14th February in the Systems Lab, and were facilitated by Midhun M and Adithyan S from Revertech Solutions IT. A total of 60 sixth-semester ECE students actively took part in the program. The course received positive feedback from the participants. They appreciated the hands-on approach and the opportunity to work on real-world projects.
Key outcomes of the course included:
• To understand and implement basic Python concepts, including data types, condition statements, functions, and object-oriented programming.
• To gain hands-on experience in applying machine learning algorithms, such as clustering, regression, and classification, using Python libraries like Numpy, Pandas, and TensorFlow.
• To develop practical skills in IoT, including sensor integration, wireless communication, and home automation projects using microcontrollers, web interfaces, and the Blynk app.
The add-on course provided valuable insights into emerging technologies and prepared students to explore innovative solutions using Machine Learning and IoT. The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, indicating the success of the program. The hands-on experience and industry-relevant projects helped bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, preparing students for future challenges in the field of engineering and technology.
