To promote equity, inclusiveness, and equal opportunity within the institution in accordance with UGC guidelines, ensuring a discrimination-free academic and work environment for all stakeholders irrespective of gender, caste, religion, disability, socio-economic background, or any other status.

Functions of the Equity Committee

  1. Promote Equity and Inclusion
    To promote an inclusive, equitable, and non-discriminatory academic and work environment within the institution.
  2. Prevent Discrimination
    To identify and discourage practices that may lead to discrimination based on gender, caste, religion, disability, socio-economic background, or any other status.
  3. Awareness and Sensitization
    To organize awareness programs, workshops, and campaigns on equity, diversity, and inclusive practices for students and staff.
  4. Advisory Role
    To advise the institution on policies, practices, and interventions that enhance equal opportunity and social justice.
  5. Monitoring and Review
    To periodically review institutional practices and facilities to ensure accessibility, inclusiveness, and fairness.
  6. Referral and Coordination
    To refer grievance-related matters to appropriate statutory committees (ICC, SC/ST Cell, Grievance Redressal Committee, etc.) when required.
  7. Documentation and Reporting
    To maintain records of activities and submit periodic reports to the Principal / IQAC for review and quality improvement.
