World Rainforest Day

June 22 is observed as World Rainforest Day, to raise awareness about the critical role that rainforests play in maintaining the health of our planet 🌍 and supporting rich biodiversity. 📚 This global observance sheds light on the importance of rainforests in regulating the climate ☁, maintaining the water cycle and providing habitats for countless species 🐍🦜 🌿 Rainforests are some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth, home to over half of the world's plant and animal species 🐅🌺. Many of these species remain undiscovered and hold potential for breakthroughs in medicine 💊, agriculture 🌾, and sustainable innovation 🔬. Through this observance, the NSS Unit encouraged the AISAT community to understand and appreciate the vital role of rainforests and to support actions that protect and preserve these natural treasures 🌱💚.
