The Mechanical Engineering Association FLAME, in collaboration with the Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI], conducted the Grand Finale of the MECH CRAFT `22 – the All Kerala B.Tech Project Competition on 6th October 2022. Around 20 teams from across Kerala participated, and after various critical judging levels, eight contestants were selected for the Grand Finale. Mr. P. A. Salahudheen, FIE, Chairman & Mr. A. N. Narayanan, MIE, Institution of Engineers (India) Cochin Chapter were present for the award ceremony. An ever rolling trophy was sponsored by IEI(I) for the winners. The judging panel consists of 3 academicians. Dr. Linss T Alex, Associate Prof & HoD , Dept of EEE, AISAT, Mr. Aswith R Shenoy, Asst. Prof. Dept of ME, Model Engg College & Dr. Ramadas T., Associate Prof, Dept of ME, AISAT were the members of judging panel.
Mr. Gregory James and team from the Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science won the first prize of Rs 10,000 for their project “Development of Biodegradable Bone Scaffolds for Tissue Engineering Scaffold Applications”. Mr. Mathews Vivek Oommen of Saintgits College of Engineering and team won his second prize of Rs 5,000 for the project “Semi Automated Multi-Rotational Loader”. Mr. Anoop K. Anto and team from Christ College of Engineering won his 3rd prize of Rs 2,500 for the project “Solar Cell Performance Analysis in Desalination”.
The final presentation & award ceremony was held on 6th October, 2022 at AISAT, Kalamassery. Prof. Elsa John delivered the welcome speech. Prof. Dr. S Jose, Principal, AISAT offered felicitations where he congratulated the winning teams. He emphasized the importance of such competitions in highlighting the creativity and innovation of young minds. He said he hope the competition will inspire many students to put more thought and effort into their B.Tech projects so that they too can become winners in the future.
The winning teams were awarded a cash prize worth Rs.17500 and Ever-rolling trophy. Mr. P.A. Salahudheen & Mr. A Narayanan from IEI felicitated the gathering. Asst. Manager Rev. Fr. Manoj Marottickal, Prof Jose V Mathew & HoD Ms. Asha K. R. attended the event along with AISAT faculty and students. Mr. Ashik Roy, S7 ME student gave the vote of thanks and the program concluded at 4pm.
