The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) & Gender Justice Cell (GJC) of AISAT jointly celebrated the International Women’s day on 11th March 2022.  Women’s day is globally celebrated on 8th March to commemorate the cultural, political, and socio-economic achievements of women.  It is also celebrated to bring attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, violence and abuse against women.  The UN theme for 2022 International Women’s Day is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, looking to highlight the contribution of women and girls around the globe, who participate in their communities promoting on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, in order to build a more sustainable future for all.

A talk was arranged for the women fraternity of AISAT as part of this program. The speaker was the president of Cochin Gynaecology society, Dr. Gracy Thomas. The program started at 3:15 p.m. with a prayer by Ms. Mariya Shifna, S1 CSE. The welcome address was delivered by Associate Professor Mrs Sonu K. Varghese who is the senior most lady faculty of AISAT. All the girls students of batch 10 (S1 students) were the audience for the program. The talk was concentrated on the physical and mental well-being and the psychological & physiological changes happening in both boys and girls during the adolescence period.

The speaker also addressed the problems related to menstrual cycle in girls of Ages 13 yrs & above. The talk given by the speaker was very informative. After the interactive session the students gave a feedback to the speaker the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Ann Mary Anil of S1CSE. Many students consulted the speaker individually after the session, to clear their queries & doubts. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Mary M Kallupurakkal from S1 CSE. Ms Amanda Anil, S1 CSE served as the M.C. for the program.

The program was coordinated by Ms Asha K R, HoD Mechanical Engg, as the member of ICC & GJC. The program concluded at 4.25pm.
