Digital aspects of a construction project allow faster construction, easy project management etc. Building Information Modelling is a process used in the construction industry which is used to manage a project throughout its lifecycle. To equip civil engineering students with the new technology, KTU has introduced Use of Building Information Modelling Tools in S6 civil engineering practical course. To train the faculty handling this course, a 3 days faculty development program with special emphasis on S6 practical course CEL334 Civil Engineering Software Lab was organized by Dept. of Civil Engineering in association with BIMLABs from 9th-11th March 2022. The FDP was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Joseph Rajan Kizhavana, Assoc. Manager, AISAT. Dr. S Jose, Principal, AISAT, Prof. Paul Ansel V, Vice Principal, AISAT, Dr.Benny Mathews Abraham, HOD-Civil Engg., Er.Vipin Alazath, Director ,BIMLABs addressed the participants in the inaugural function.

The three-day FDP covered hands-on training on building modelling using REVIT Architecture, project management using PRIMAVERA and 4D simulation using Navisworks. Faculty from various engineering colleges participated and acquired the skills to handle the practical course. Faculty from BIMLABs served as resource persons. Assoc.Prof. Veena V and Assoc.Prof.Liji Anna Mathew coordinated the  FDP.
