The Government of Kerala and KTU have decided to conduct the B. Tech supplementary examinations, it is imperative that in order to minimize the risk of COVID 19 pandemic, the health advisory issued should be followed at all levels of examinations. In light of the situation, the strategies followed by Albertian Institute of Science & Technology, Kalamassery are as follows.

1. Collection of data from students
On the previous day of every exam, a Google form will be used to collect the following data from students.
Are you on quarantine ?
Are you residing in a containment zone/Hotspot?
Are you having flu or fever?
Do you have symptoms of mild fever/ flu?
Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of corona virus?
Are you coming from other state / country and not completed quarantine period?
Those students who answered YES for any of the above questions, will have to follow Red Channel protocols as listed below. Those students will be advised to use personal transportation to appear for exams.
2. RED Channel protocols
Students who answered YES for any of the above questions should report at CAR SHED before 9.00AM / 1.00PM/ 1.30PM
a. Masks should be worn by all students. Hand wash and sanitizer to be used before entering the queue.
b. Thermal Screening should be completed at entry point.
c. RED badge to be worn in dress.
d. Move directly to assigned classroom only at 9.30am /1.30pm/ 2.00pm. Till then, they have to wait at car shed itself.
e. Staffs at red channel should wear three layer mask and gloves.
3. GREEN Channel protocols
Students without any symptoms should report at BUS SHED before 9.00AM/1.00PM/1.30PM
a. Wear masks. Wash hands/sanitize before entering the queue.
b. Thermal Screening should be completed at entry point.
c. Green Badge to be worn on dress
d. Separate halls and toilets will be provided for the students with Red Badge
Students are not allowed to roaming in and around the examination block, they have to occupy their allotted seats.
Exchange of writing instruments, data book or any gadgets are not allowed.
Food and water to be brought by students. No sharing of water bottles is allowed.
Hall arrangements will be displayed in various points to avoid crowding of students.
Classroom arrangements
a. One candidate per bench
b. The student should be fully visible to the camera and through the door.
Invigilators and exam cell members should use 3 layer surgical mask and gloves. They should wash their hands with soap before wearing gloves and after removing it. No crowding is allowed in the campus before or after the exam. All candidates should leave the campus immediately after exams.
3a. Instructions for Invigilators (Green Badge students)
a. Invigilators should report at 8.45am/12.45pm/1.15pm at the Exam Cell.
b. Check the Bar code slips supplied containing register Number, Name of candidate and name of subject, and four bar code stickers.
c. Invigilators should check all the items received from exam cell as per guidelines.
d. Invigilator should peel three bar code stickers and paste on spaces provided on the answer book (2 on the front page and one on the last page). A temporary sticky note should be affixed in the answer booklet to identify the corresponding student.
e. The remaining barcode sticker and the slip containing Name, Reg No. and Subject code should pasted in the attendance sheet.
f. At 9.10am/1.10pm/1.40pm, reach the allotted exam hall, check the seating arrangements and the availability of sanitizer in the exam room. Arrange answer booklets on allotted desks properly as per the seating arrangement given.
g. Check the hall tickets at the entry to the hall and ensure that the right student is admitted into the hall and he/she bears a GREEN badge.
h. Check the valid photo ID proof (original) and collect its self-attested copy from students from other colleges.
i. Allow the students one by one into the examination hall.
j. Students need not put their signature in the attendance sheet. This has to be done by the Invigilators.
k. Do not permit any student to enter the exam hall after 9.25 am/1.25pm/1.55pm
l. Distribute the question papers at 9.30 am/ 1.30pm/2.00pm.
m. Announce to check the answer booklets for their names. Remind them NOT to exchange stickers. Once confirmed, the temporary sticky notes can be removed and collected in a plastic cover by the invigilators.
n. Late comers should wait outside the hall until the above procedures are completed and then they can be permitted inside, strictly following the above steps and handing over the right question paper.
o. Invigilators should be stationed outside or near to door.
p. Keep three plastic bags ready
1. For the purpose of collecting answer books after the examination
2. To collect the self-attested ID proof from the students of other colleges
3. For collecting the answer sheets of students committed malpractice.
q. Enter into the exam hall only when it is essential.
r. Meanwhile, the answer booklets of Red Badge students will be taken back by exam committee members and given to them in other halls.
s. After 10.30 /2.30/3.00 attendance sheet will be collected by exam cell inside separate plastic covers. Do NOT mark absentees in this sheet. Enter the details of absentees in another sheet provided.
t. Once the candidate completes writing the exam, the answer book should be collected inside the plastic cover provided. This should be marked on the attendance sheet by a TICK mark.
u. All answer sheets of the same subject should be collected in the same cover and sealed before moving out from the exam hall. This should be marked on the attendance sheet by a TICK mark.
v. Ensure that the candidates DO NOT TOUCH the plastic cover.
w. Count and verify the number of answer sheets WITHOUT opening the covers.
x. Candidates should be advised to leave the campus immediately after moving out of the examination hall.
4. Special Instructions for Invigilators (RED Badge students)
a. Ask the students to form a queue following social distancing norms.
b. Check the hall tickets at the entry to the hall and ensure that the right student is admitted into the hall and he/she bears a RED badge.
c. Check the valid photo ID proof (original) and collect (in plastic covers) its self-attested copy from students from other colleges.
d. Allocate a specific seat for the candidate inside the hall and mark it in the sheet provided
e. Admit the students one by one into the examination hall.
f. Students need not put their signature in the attendance sheet. This has to be done by the Invigilators.
g. Meanwhile, the answer booklets of Red Badge students will be supplied by exam committee members and given to the candidates.
h. Do not permit any student to enter the exam hall after 9.25 am/1.25pm/1.55pm
i. Distribute the question papers at 9.30 am/ 1.30pm/2.00pm
j. Late comers should wait outside the hall until the question papers are distributed completely.
k. Late comers should be permitted inside, strictly following the above steps and handing over the right question paper when he/she enters the hall.
l. Invigilators should be stationed OUTSIDE the door
m. Enter into the exam hall only when it is HIGHLY essential.
n. Keep three plastic bags ready
1. For the purpose of collecting answer books after the examination
2. To collect the self-attested ID proof from the students of other colleges
3. For collecting the answer sheets of students committed malpractice.
o. The KTU attendance sheets would be provided by exam cell in plastic covers.
p. Invigilator will call out the candidates one by one by name, and ask them to sign on the KTU attendance sheet.
q. The candidate will come forward near to door, and sign the sheet after taking it out from the cover THEMSELVES, and then putting it back.
r. Once the candidate completes writing the exam, the answer book should be collected inside the plastic cover provided. This should be marked on the attendance sheet by a TICK mark.
s. All answer sheets of the same subject should be collected in the same cover and sealed before moving out from the exam hall.
t. Ensure that the candidates DO NOT TOUCH the plastic cover.
u. Count and verify the number of answer sheets WITHOUT opening the covers.
v. Candidates should be permitted to leave the hall only 10 minutes after the expiry of the period of exam. (12.40pm/4.40pm/5.10pm as the case may be)
5. The data collection explained in step 1 will be repeated on the previous day of all exams.
a. This is only for the students with Green badge, including the students from other colleges.
b. Based on the above, more students may be listed to follow Red Channel protocol.
6. Malpractice
a. If any malpractice is noticed, collect the answer booklet in a plastic bag along with the proof.
b. Later, the student is provided with a new answer book and can re-start the examination.
c. No need to affix barcode in the new answer book, instead the previous alpha numeric code should be written.
d. The answer paper should be collected in separate plastic cover without combining with other answer booklets.
e. Finally, after the exam, invigilator should report to the exam coordinator.
