Department of Civil engineering in association with ALG International Institute of Technology organized a three-day Advanced Training Programme on Total Station from February 20th to 22nd,2019. The program aimed to equip the participants with theoretical and practical concepts through hands-on training, which helps to gain real time understanding and essential skill sets required for present surveying industry. In the inaugural ceremony welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Ronny Thomas 2016-20 batch. The training program was inaugurated by Assoc. Manager Rev.Fr. Joseph Rajan Kizhavana and Dr. Babu T Jose, Director &HOD, Civil Department presided the function. Felicitations were rendered by Dr. Philip Kurian, Principal and Mr. Kumar Sandeep, Business Head, ALG International. Ms. Rinta Anto  2016-20 batch proposed vote of thanks.

The training included Basics of Total Station, Total Station Traversing, stake out, Topographical survey, Area Calculation, Height Calculation, Data transfer, Mapping etc. This training program was completed successfully by 53 participants. Participants were grouped into different batches and each batch had a full-time dedicated faculty and total station which helped them to work as a team.

In the closing function, certificate of participation was distributed to all the members. Mr. Sreevishnu Gangadharan, was selected as the Best Performer of the training program and by Assoc.Prof.Veena.V. appreciated him by giving certificate of appreciation. Assoc. Prof. Veena.V and Assoc. Prof. Liji Anna Mathew were the coordinators of the training programme.

The working knowledge with total Station turned out to be an added advantage to the skill sets of  participants.
