An industrial visit was organized for S4 mechanical engineering students (Batch 5) of AISAT, Kalamassery. The two day journey was accompanied by three teachers from the Department , Mr Arun V, Mr. Jayesh Johnson and Mrs. Shilpa Francis. The group of 36, started their journey by 6 am on Saturday, 20th January 2018 from the college.
Paragon TMT steel Pvt Ltd, Kanjikode, Palakkad was the first stop in the itinerary, The supervisor of the section explained about the various steps involved in the production of steel. Thermomechanical treatment (TMT) was shown and explained to the students.
Next day the scheduled stop was at The Tea Factory and The Tea Museum, Doddabetta Road, Ooty. There were lots of machines related to different process from collecting the leaves to the end product tea. Each machines had different uses like rolling the leaves from one place to another, crushing and grinding the leaves, powdering and heating, A homemade chocolate factory was also present were most of the students bought different varieties of homemade chocolates. The trip was an unforgettable experience for all.
