The Industrial visit for S5 Mechanical students started on 19th Sep 2017 from the college campus  at 7pm. 55 students participated in the I.V. Camillus Harri and Christin T Thomas were the student co-ordinators. Asst. professors Mr. Aswith R Shenoy, Mr. Joseph Antony Reneesh and Mr. Arun V accompanied the students.

The first visit was to Visvesaraya Technological Musuem, Bengaluru. It houses a treasure trove of machines and artifacts related to science and technology. The museum consists of exhibition Halls on Engines, Electricity, Fun Science, Space, Biotechnology and Electronics. The students could see, visualize and understand the working of many mechanical systems at the museum. The faculties explained to the students the working of engines, linkages, steering mechanism, gears systems, aerofoil lifts etc. The students were able to see-and-understand the working principles and applications of many systems related to mechanical, electronics etc. which they have already learned in their theory classes.

The second visit was to Goa Invescast Limited (GIL). GIL is dedicated to manufacture and supply of Investment Castings. The students could visit the production floor, tool room etc. and the production engineer familiarized the students the major operations in casting like wax injection, induction melting, shot blasting and testing. They were also familiarized with the inspection methods like spectro analysis, X-ray and Crack detection.

They visited Dandeli which is famous for eco-tourism and adventure sport after the first I.V. After the second I.V.  they visited some tourist attractions of Goa including Baga beach, Chapora Fort and Bom Jesus Cathedral. The students reached the college back on 24th September by 7pm.
