The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, AISAT organised an interactive session with Mr. Yukihiro Matsumoto, the creator of Ruby Language. Session was held at seminar hall 11:00 am on 30 January 2017.
Yukihiro Matsumoto, famously known as Matz, is a Japanese computer scientist and software programmer best known as the chief designer of the Ruby programming language and currently working on a language called streem. Streem is a stream based concurrent scripting language.
He was warmly welcomed by Dr. K.E.George, Principal of AISAT, followed by a speech from Mr. Hudson where he introduced Matz and his ideas.
Students of CSE, ECE and ME took part in the program where Yukihiro Matsumoto happily interacted and answered various questions asked by students and faculty..Matz spoke about Functional Programming and Programming Languages Design.He explained his passion and determination and the motivation in developing Ruby language.He bowed down every time the student thanked him for answering their questions.
Rev.Dr.Clement Valluvassery emphasised the importance of hard work and there is no shortcuts to success.He also cited Matz as an passionate person and a perfect role model for the students.
The session was concluded by Dr. Babu.T.Jose, Director of AISAT, by handing over the memento to Mr. Yukihiro Matsumoto, which he gladly accepted.
