Keyana Tennant, Manager of the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) program, has a passion for STEM education and is committed to encouraging students to pursue technology careers. Since 2005, Keyana has applied this passion in her work in leading and developing the WIE program. She prides her accomplishments not on her work, but on the dedication and support of all of the volunteers, leaders, members, and IEEE Staff. Without such a committed team, the WIE program would not be such a success! Keyana received her BA from University of Maryland College Park and has a Masters in Public Administration. visited Albertian College of Technology, AISAT on 18th September 2016 during the All Kerala WiE Summit. She was on an official tour to South Asian Countries.

Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager AISAT presided the Inaugural function. Dr. K. E. George, Principal, Ms. Mini Ullanat, IEEE Kochi Subsectoin Chair, Mr. Shahim Baker, IEEE Kochi Subsection Vice Chair and Dr. Deepthy Das, Secretary, IEEE Kerala WiE were present. 75 student volunteers from nearly 24 colleges attended the seminar.

The mission of IEEE WIE is to facilitate the global recruitment, retention and recognition of women in technical disciplines. IEEE WIE envisions a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity.

IEEE WiE: recognizes women’s outstanding achievements in electrical and electronics engineering, ORGANIZES receptions at major technical conferences to enhance networking and to promote membership in WIE ADVOCATES women in leadership roles in IEEE governance PROVIDES assistance with the formation of new WIE Affinity Groups and supports ongoing activities ADMINISTERS the IEEE (STAR) Program- Pre-University Outreach PROMOTES member grade advancement FACILITATES the development of programs and activities that promote the entry into and retention of women in engineering programs.
