The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a two-day national workshop on “Impact of power quality issues in energy conservation” jointly sponsored by Kerala state council for science technology and environment (KSCSTE) on February 27 and 28, 2015.

Chief guest of the day, Dr. G. Madhu, Principal, School of Engineering CUSAT inaugurated the workshop. He cited that “Energy is precious and the need for energy conservation as it is becoming relevant in the current world”. Dr. G. Madhu shared his experiences in the field of Energy conservation and also various  latest technologies implemented for saving energy more efficiently.

Prof. Jayaraman C, convenor of the workshop welcomed the gathering. Principal, Dr. K. E. George presided over the function. Manager, Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery appreciated the Department of EEE for organizing a national workshop on such a relevant topic. Assistant Manager, Rev.Fr. John Christopher delivered felicitation. Rev. Fr. Alex Kurishuparambil Associate Manager, AISAT presented memento to the chief guest. Ms. Priya Xavier, HOD, Dept. of EEE proposed vote of thanks.

The workshop is a platform for both students and teachers under electrical engineering to upgrade the knowledge in power quality issues energy management.Nearly 50 participants and experts from various industries were present for the inaugural ceremony.
