The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, AISAT organized a talk on “Hardware Security: Threats & Emerging Solutions” by Dr. Rajat Subhra Chakraborty, IIT Kharagpur for the students and faculties on 28th August, 2014.
The inaugural function was blessed with the presence of Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager,AISAT, Prof. Dr. K.E.George, Principal,AISAT, Prof. Vincent.K.John, Vice Principal,AISAT and Dr. Babita Roselind. Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery welcomed the gathering. Ms. Deepthy K Denatious, Head of the Department,CSE,AISAT introduced the Chief Guest.
Dr. R S Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, IIT Kharagpur, has a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University (USA) and is one of the recipients of the “IBM Faculty Award” for 2012, and “Royal Academy of Engineering (U.K.) Fellowship” in 2014. He delivered an enchanting presentation covering the topics: Hardware Trojans, ways to detect the hardware Trojans and Emerging Solutions like Physically Unclonable Function (PUF). He explained the challenges faced by the government to provide security to sensitive data. He inculcated awareness about the security issues in the mind of budding young engineers. The faculties grasped technical ideas to set their future research directions.
