The welcoming ceremony for the new batch of engineering students was held on 31st July with all its characteristic pomp and pride at the AISAT Da Vinci Auditorium. The function started with a prayer song by the AISAT choir group. Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery,Manager, AISAT in his welcome note wished good luck to all the new engineering students. He also quoted ‘Success is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration’ and urged the students to work hard and reap success. Rt. Rev .Msgr. Jose Padiyaramparambil Vicar General, Archdiocese of Verapoly inaugurated SCHOLA BREVIS 2014- the initiation ceremony, by lighting the lamp. He briefed about the history of catholic educational institutions and the divine motto behind them. Education should fuel-up minds and hearts, he said. Prof. Dr. Babu T. Jose Director, AISAT, addressed the gathering and journeying through the various events at AISAT he said AISAT is a college with difference, focused towards its aim of excellence. The new students lighted the candles, and a short prayer followed. Rev. Fr. Alex Kurisuparambil, Associate Manager, AISAT, handed over the memento to the chief guest. Prof. Dr. K . E. George, Principal, AISAT proposed the vote of thanks.
The Inaugural ceremony was followed with a motivational talk by Mr. Justin Padamadan, Counselor and Psychologist on the topic “ Bringing up our wards in the right way”. He evaluated the problems faced by the students in the present world scenario. He urged the students to aim high and make maximum use of all the available facilities. He made the session attractive with examples and asked parents to be a good friend of their wards. The next session was on the “Rules and Regulations” at the college and was handled by Prof. M. R. Joseph,HOD, Arts and Science Department. The programme came to an end at 2.30 with a second session by Mr. Justin Padamadan on the topic “Steps towards Maturity”.
