IEEE LINK in association with Neona Labs organized a project contest using RENESAS RL78 Microcontrollers for the engineering students of Kerala on 16th March 2014 at Block A, AISAT. This contest was a follow up event of the four day workshop on Renesas RL78 conducted during 7-10 February, 2014 at the same venue. 17 working models were at display which showcased the thrive of the new generation engineering students in applying their knowledge for the humanity. The projects included smart rooms, shock detector, helmet for safe driving, solar panel tracking sun etc. which will improve the life of mankind.
The adjudicators for the contest were Prof. Mohammed Kasim, SAC, IEEE Kerala Section, Mr. Yesoranjan, DGM, RENESAS and Ms. Swetha Baid, Universities in charge, RENESAS. The first prize of Rs. 25000/- and goodies was won by the team from Mangalam College of Engineering, Ettuumanoor.
A team from AISAT also participated in the contest exhibiting their work “Sun tracker Solar Panel”. The team comprised of Mr. Abin Thomas, Mr. Derry Joseph, Mr. Febin Sebastian and Mr. Ghanshyam C Kartha of S4 ECE. The working model was designed and set in the prototype lab of Department of ECE under the guidance of Mr. Madhu and Mr. Arun P. Radh, lab faculty of EEE and ECE respectively.
