A presentation on Glaciers was held at AISAT seminar hall during the ‘Empower hour’ on 5th February 2014, Wednesday. Dr. Martin Juen, an Environmental Engineer, and Ms. Marita Schelling, a teacher at a special school in Germany were the resource persons. Both of them are citizens of Germany. Rev.Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager AISAT welcomed the guests and introduced them to the students. The session was attended by Prof.Dr. K.E. George, Principal, AISAT and the faculty members of the Civil engineering department.

Dr.Martin Juen, holds PhD in Environmental Engineering and Graduation in Civil Engineering . He presented his Doctoral study about the behaviour of Debris covered glaciers and the effect of climate change on the ablation rate of glaciers. He shared his valuable experiences during his course of work. The uniqueness of the topic itself made the session interesting. Ms. Marita Schelling, is a graphics graduate, and is a tutor in a special school in Munich,Germany. She explained the system of education at this special school in Germany and enlightened the students that the vision of their educational system is to make “good human beings” and only good human beings could make good professionals.
