The HAM club of AISAT was inaugurated on 26th October 2013. Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager AISAT, Dr. T.K. Mani, former Principal Model Engineering College, Mr. Subramania Sastri, Senior HAM, Mr. Ravichandran Nair, Senior HAM, Mr. Paul Ansel V., HOD ECE and Ms. Anu Antony, Faculty in charge HAM Club of AISAT were present in the function.
Mr. Paul Ansel V in his welcome speech pointed out the diversity in the activities planned by AISAT and department of ECE in special. Rev. Dr. Clement expressed that the HAM club will add on a new chapter to the social commitment of AISAT. Dr. Mani in his keynote address pointed that the amateur radio is still relevant as it could be widely used in disaster management as it was used in recent disaster at Utharakand. He also pointed out that a fully fledged disaster management system for Kerala is the need of the hour and the HAM club could grow has a center for disaster management.
Mr. Ravindran explained on various technologies in the HAM fraternity in his presentation. He displayed various activities carried out by the HAM for the society and technical advancement of humanity. Mr. Shinto, an HAM enthusiast performed a demonstration of HAM and the communication possibilities. The students of dept. of ECE actively participated in the debinar and gained enormous knowledge in the field of communication through HAM. Ms. Anu Antony proposed the vote of thanks and expressed her hope for continual activities by the HAM.
