Hackerspace@AISAT was inaugurated on, Saturday, 19th October 2013 at Albertian Institute of Science and Technology Kalamassery Cochin. Hackerspace@AISAT is the first of its kind in Kerala. It’s a place where people can meet, work and innovate. The specific activities that take place at hackerspaces vary from place to place. In general, hackerspaces functions as center for peer learning and knowledge sharing, in the form of workshops, presentations, and lectures. It provides space for members to work on their individual projects, or to collaborate on group projects with other members.
The chief guest for the morning session was Mr. Varghese Daniel, CEO and founder, Wrench Solutions PVT Ltd. The session started with a ribbon cutting by Rev.Fr. Alex Kurishuparambil. Ms. Deepthy K. Denatious, HoD Computer Science and Engineering welcomed the gathering. The function was presided over by Rev. Fr. Clement Valluvassery. Miss. Jessy George, Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Engineering Department, gave an introduction to Hackerspace. Mr. Varghese Daniel, Chief Guest for the day inaugurated Hackerspace and addressed the gathering. Mr. Rahul Ramesh, CTO Codeyssus lab gave an introduction about the educational startup Devspace[x]. The Google cloud challenge was announced by Mr. Amrit Sanjeev, Technical Architect, Intuit. A presentation on future activities of Computer Science and Engineering Department and its Students association ENIAC was done by Mr. Bobinson K B, CEO & Founder of Agileblaze Technologies private Ltd and member of department advisory council. Dr. K. E. George, Principal, Albertian Institute of Science and Technology, expressed his whole hearted support for the new venture. The morning session concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Philip Joseph, Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Engineering Department.
The chief guest for the Afternoon session was Mr. Shashidhar Gurumurthy, Senior Solutions Architect, Salesforce. It began with the release of ENIAC newsletter. The main highlight of the day was a talk on Google App Engine, by Mr. Shashidhar Gurumurthy and interactive session on Android application development by Mr. Amrit Sanjeev.
