POWER-12' was inaugurated by Prof.K.V.Thomas, the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution on April 20, 2012
The meeting was presided over by His Grace Rev. Dr. Francis Kallarakkal the Metropolitan Archbishop of Verapoly. Ernakulam MLA Sri Hibi Eden launched the webportal www.engineeringkerala.org. The function was attended by college manager Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Associate Manager Fr. Alex Kurisuparambil, Director Dr. Babu T Jose, Prof.Mukundan Kutty and Asst. Professor Paul Ansel. The two day seminar is concluded at 5.30 P.M on Saturday 21st April.
“There was a time when an employment in F.A.C.T or H.M.T was considered equal to an employment in IAS or IPS in the Government sector. Such was the demand but the whole situation is now changed. There are plenty of opportunities. But the lack of skilled people are now increased. India is facing severe unemployment. Many of our people are migrating outside seeking jobs. But the same time many of our industries are not getting skilled and efficient people. This is a Pardox. We have to find a solution to this problem. I hope the workshop conducted by Albertian Institute of Science and technology will throw light to the various issues and find solutions” - Minister Commented
