As a part of social responsibility & commitment towards the society around us, S7 ME students made a visit to St. Teresa’s Mercy home at Kacheripady on 21st September 2017. They reached there by around 6.30 am in the morning. The Mercy Home is situated at Banerji road, Kacheripady, Kochi.

It is a women’s only old age home. The group from AISAT consisted of 22 students of S7 ME and Fr. Denny Mathew Peringhat, the Manager of AISAT. We celebrated Fr. Denny’s feast day at the old age home. Feast day celebrations started with cake cutting by 7.00 am. All the mothers and staff of the old age home participated in the celebrations. Cake was distributed to all. Then the students had breakfast with the occupants. All of the occupants were happy to see students talking & spending time with them.  Students visited all the rooms and talked with them. Some of them sang songs for students and talked about their lives. By 9.30 am all grandmothers in the old age home, assembled in the main hall. Students conducted various interactive games for them and they were so happy to participate. Students sang various songs for them also.

Finally, Students thanked all the sisters and staff of mercy home for giving the opportunity and for their service for those in need of help.  By 12. 00 pm students left the old age home. It was a fruitful experience for all of us to share time with those who have so much experiences in their lives. All who visited there have surely understood the need of sharing & caring of our own grandparents and those in the old age.
