Dr.Poulose Jacob, Pro Vice Chancellor of CUSAT Inaugurated the one day workshop on “Changing Scenario in Technical Education” at ASIAT on 15th May 2015, Kalamasserry, organized as a part of the National Technological Day Celebration , under Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment.
In his Inaugural Speech Dr. Poulose Jacob, highlighted the importance of learning, especially in the technical education field. He opined that the Government has the responsibility to provide opportunity to all the students who are qualified for higher education and the recent proliferation of technical education centers in the State is to be viewed in this perspective. He also commented that the higher education expenses in India are still one of the lowest among the developed and developing countries.
Rev. Dr.Clement Valluvassery, Manager, AISAT presided over the function and Dr. K.E. George , Principal, AISAT, Rev. Fr. Alex Kurisuparambil , Assoc. Manager, AISAT and Mr Tiju Baby, Asst. Professor AISAT spoke during the Inaugural function. The Inaugural function was followed by Technical presentations by Prof. V.P.N. Nampoori, Prof Emeritus, International School of Photonics.
